The Subaru Ascent: An SUV Filled with Creature Comforts

The new Subaru Ascent is the biggest of Subaru’s line up with the ability to take in up to eight passengers. This is the vehicle that has the capacity of a van but looks and moves more like an SUV. That’s what the new Subaru Ascent is all about.

Interior

The Subaru Ascent currently has four trims: Standard Ascent, Premium, Limited, and Touring. The second-row seats for both the Premium and the Limited can either be second-row benches or Captain’s Chairs, which are two seats separated by a path to the third row. That means the kids will easily be able to get to the third-row with chairs like that in the second. High-quality fabric seating is standard for the regular Ascent with all leather seating for the top tier Ascents.

As this is a family vehicle, the new Subaru Ascent has the amenities that make trips of all kinds enjoyable. This vehicle has built-in wi-fi connectivity and USB charging. It’s got Subaru STARLINK Entertainment. It’s got a panoramic moonroof allowing the natural light in for everyone in the SUV. Its raised roof gives you more headroom and power rear gate for easy loading and unloading.

Handling and Performance

The Subaru Ascent is meant for a long haul vehicle with designs that work on making your road trips comfortable and enjoyable. It’s got the standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive that Subaru is respected for in the industry. This new Subaru family crossover is able to go with 27 miles per gallon of fuel on the highway and 21 mpg in the city.

And as its the identity of an SUV, it’s got 8.7 inches of ground clearance and an X-mode that makes the most of the Ascent’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system driving through ice or off-road. It’s also the system the gives you that Hill Descent Control for vehicle stability when descending down steep hills in Orange County, VA.

With Subaru’s Boxer engine along with its turbocharging and Direct Injection efficiency, the new Subaru Ascent generates up to 260 horsepower with 277 pound-feet of torque. That’s an engine that can pull up to 5,000 pounds of towing weight. That’s the weight of more than two grown elephants.
